I had an awesome weekend, one of the best that I have had in awhile. The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS. Yes, it was all snow, ice and freezing temps earlier this week, Monday thru Wednesday, but lo and behold, by Saturday, the temperature was in the high 80's. Weird, but we enjoyed it all, the snow and the sunshine! My girls started their soccer team Saturday and that was the funniest thing EVER!!! The poor coach kept saying, "No hands, girls" "Come back and join us girls" "Use your feet, not hands, girls" "We have to leave the balls on the ground sweetie" . And all of that was just to my children. Then my little M & M decided to have a love affair with the netting in the goal area. I have no idea why she became so fixated on it. At another point, they both decided to walk off of the field in the middle of practice to tell me that they wanted something to drink. It was just the funniest thing EVER!!!! I admire that coach, he kept his cool the entire time. I think that I am going to love SOCCER with our girls!
Later that afternoon we ate Ethiopian food and it was SO SO good. I found myself late Sunday afternoon scraping the takehome box with my injera trying to get the last taste of some doro wat. That's when I decided that it's time that I attempt an Ethiopian dish at home. I've always just figured that I should leave the Ethiopian cooking to the experts at my fave restaurant, but now I think that it's time to try it on my own. The way that my sweet daughter was inhaling her injera and other Ethiopian cooked foods also let me know that it really is time to try to learn how to cook it at home so that we can eat it more often. I'll keep you posted on this one, :).
Then on Sunday morning, I woke up extra early to make sure that I had time to redo the girls' hair so that it would be nice and fresh for church. We were going to the church of one of my mentors, Dr. Hunter, and the girls were excited b/c they LOVE her just like I do. Got them dressed, was working on getting myself together. Daddy was sleeping in a little late. Everything was going great. Got a flat tire and did NOT make it to church, but it was still ALL good and we had our own version of church at our house. I'm trying to remember to make sweet lemonade when I'm given lemons.
I'm so thankful for my family, friends and for every day that I'm given.
A Beautiful Weekend overall and we made Beautiful Memories. Dana
Love you J and wish that you were here.

Soccer is so that way with little ones. Just wait til they start picking flowers or chasing butterflies. It's fun to watch. It's fun to watch the guy's trying to get them to play the right way too
I'm so jealous of your weather! Your girls are so sweet, and what a good mamma you are to squeeze out those old lemons (-:
Great post Dana. Love the title, what can go better than soccer and injera! Hope you are doing well. I feel like I haven't "talked" to you in awhile. Also I am so happy to see pictures of you finally. Beautiful!
