I had the most wonderful birthday party last weekend. My husband planned a surprise gathering with my closest girlfriends (and sisters) for me and they all had tickets to a concert that they'd all secretly purchased over the last month. Everyone had made me think that they were too busy and out of town for Mother's Day weekend festivities, etc., so I was absolutely SHOCKED to walk around the corner of the restaurant that my husband took me to for dinner and see all of my girlfriends there smiling, yelling, Happy Birthday!!! I couldn't do anything but cry initially and there was black mascara everywhere, LOL!!! All 9 of us had seats on the same row and we had an absolute BLAST at the concert and hanging out afterwards!!!!!!! It was so much fun acting silly and carefree again. We let everything else going on in our lives completely go for that night and it was so freeing.
I felt so humbled that my partner took the time to plan something so intimate and special for me and I felt honored that all of these girls loved me enough to come. I have NOT felt like my normal self at times this last year, and I know that I have not been the easiest person to be around. I have not been the best wife, mother, sister, friend, daughter, etc., at times. So to know that I am understood and loved despite it all, on all of my days, good and bad, means the world to me.
I feel positively rejuvenated.
Congrats on graduating Kelz!!!!
Happy Belated Mother's Day to all!
