baby brother.
This is the prayer that my 2yr old says regularly. She alternates between praying for her brother, the baby and her baby brother. None of which she currently has. We've always wanted a son, but there are no plans for one right now and no buns in the oven either.
I'm not really sure what prompted it, but sometime last year, she began asking for a baby, a big brother, a baby brother and/or a brother. We were somewhat baffled, as it came out of the blue, but we just told her-maybe one day. She would ask us at random times- like in the middle of dinner, on the way into the grocery store, at family gatherings, bedtime, etc., etc. THEN she started praying about it and thanking God for it (along with her applesauce and pillows), which was even more interesting.
She received a boy Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas from her greataunt. It came with a bottle, diapers, the works. Seizing the opportunity,I told her that now she has a baby just like that little brother that she's been asking for. She can feed and change it if she likes. There's even a stroller that she can push the baby in. The Patch doll also had a birth certificate inside the box and the certificate coincidentally has the same birthday as my daughter, so that just sealed the deal. I thought all was well, no more questions about having a brother, a baby, etc. Right?
Not really. She has started back up praying for our mysterious child(ren). So I decided that I will join her with this. Maybe she knows something that I do not.
There are already several children/orphans that I pray for regularly, so I'll make sure to include this "child" too.
Thank you God for my children, they give me a reason to smile daily.

They always seem to know something we don't. :-) Too cute!
I totally relate. Josiah is praying for a baby sister daily and asks us a dozen times a day when she can come home.
It is killing me.
He has no idea what we are going through due to our failed adoption right now so he can't understand but he is praying his heart out to God for this sister.
Who knows?
Sweet kids!
